I'm not denying that we have had them under this labor government, but I am highlighting the fact that the rot actually set in during the Howard government's term, and this government is not entirely to blame.

Also, had the current labor government not turned to spending, which is the oldest fiscal trick in the book in times of economic downturn (Keynes) in order to keep an economy going, how much more impact do any of you think the GFC might have had on our economy? We afterall were the only economy in the western world to not dip into recession. The US is fucked, the EC is fucked, China even had a small slow down, and where are we? Back into surplus after all that expenidture to keep us afloat eh? GFC??? What GFC??? And Howard was our godsend??? pfffftttt.
